Young Greenwich - Southend Day Trip
On Thursday, 31st July, we had an amazing day out at Adventure Island in Southend, with our young people and staff from all 4 of our youth hubs around the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Bringing these communities together, making long-lasting impact, enjoying the day on the beach, in the sea and on all the rides in the theme park.
A parent of a young person on the trip said, “My children, neighbour and friends truly enjoyed every moment with you all. Everything was so well organised – from the bus to the activities and the whole atmosphere. We honestly wished we had more time to stay.”
Although the weather didn’t start great, it was not going to stop us! All eager to get on the rides, the bigger they are, the faster they go, so I was told. Taking in the sights, the sea’s breeze and of course the fish and chips. Having a quick dip whilst the tide was in and ensuring that everyone got an opportunity to go on rides. A jam-packed, full day with smiles, which topped the day off lovely.
A big thank you to everyone involved in organising, supporting and making this trip joyful and memorable, and we can’t wait for our next adventure.
