B Young Stars Award Ceremony 2022

“A progamme that is delivering massive opportunities for our young people, where you can feel the sense of togetherness, aspiration and dedication” Councillor Danny Thorpe Leader of Royal Borough of Greenwich 

Last week Young Greenwich attended our Partners B Young Stars annual awards Ceremony at Woolwich Town Hall. The night was a great opportunity to celebrate all their member's achievements over the last year. In attendance were Mayor of Greenwich Councillor Denise Hyland and Lead Councillor Danny Thorpe who displayed their praises and enthusiasm for the great service that has been provided for the young people of Greenwich.

The Awards included categories such as best improved, staff members and development highlighting the tremendous accomplishments. B Young Stars certainly reflect on their motto ‘Aiming to lead and inspire young people across the Royal borough of Greenwich’ It was great to see so many young people and their families in attendance who were overjoyed and proud of their achievements. As the pandemic has caused several effects including educational disruption, however many guardians were pleased that their children could still benefit from such service during these times. All staff have tirelessly delivered exceptional educational and mentoring guidance which have allowed the young people to flourish.

Hodan Yusuf B Young Stars coordinator stated ‘The young people mostly come back to volunteer at the centres and these awards and recognitions is what motivates them to give back to the community' 

The awards certificates were presented and signed by both Mayor and Councillor with each nominee taking amazing selfies with them. As you can see below our young people were extremely thrilled when receiving their awards. It was great to see so many people gathered for the night of the celebration.
