Thursday 13th September 2018
After years of success and with over 300 attendees in 2017, Young Greenwich Day returns on Saturday 6 October from 12pm. Young Greenwich will take place at The Valley just before Charlton Athletic’s home game vs Coventry City (3pm kick off).
What is Young Greenwich Day?
Young Greenwich is dedicating its annual themed matchday to celebrating young people and youth culture in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Available to young people aged 10-19 (or up to 25 for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), the free event offers a range of activities from live performances to active sports stations.
What activities will there be on the day?
Taking place at The Valley, Young Greenwich Day activities will be held in Valley Central Youth Hub and the Family Activity Zone outside the stadium’s West Stand from 12pm to 2pm before CAFC’s home game against Coventry City.
From live music and entertainment to competitions, activities will include:
- Live boxing sessions with Champions 4 Change
- Dance performances from Doriel Dance
- Football skills
- Live judo sessions with Metro Judo club
- Games and challenges
- And much more!
There will also be a performance by a special guest on the day.
Is there a dress code?
There is no official dress code but, if you would like to get involved in the sporting activities on the day, we advise you to wear comfortable clothing.
How can I get tickets to the match?
Please visit Avery Hill, Hawksmoor or Woolwich Common Youth Hub and speak to the Unit manager to get your Promo code cards, follow the instructions and get free ticket from Tuesday 25 September. Click here to find your nearest youth hub >>
Tickets are free and only available to young people aged 10-19 (or up to 25 for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) who live or study in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Will there be a photographer on the day?
We encourage everyone to get involved and put on their best smiles for the camera.
To capture the fantastic day and how much fun you will have, we will have a photographer on site to film and take pictures. All images and videos will be used for marketing purposes and shared across Young Greenwich and CACT’s:
- Social media pages: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn
Feeling shy? Don’t worry, if you do not wish to be filmed or have your photos taken on the day, please let the photographer know on the day.
We invite all young people who live or study in Royal Greenwich to Young Greenwich Day. There will be many activities and free opportunities for all and is a fantastic way to get ready for a key Charlton game.
