Get Nominated for the Positive for Youth Awards!

Nominate someone for the ‘Creating Diversity & Inclusion Award’ at the Positive for Youth Awards 2017, sponsored by Young Greenwich’s partner, Young Urban Arts Foundation (YUAF). If you know anyone aged 13-25 who has made an outstanding youth contribution to the local community individually or through projects, nominate them by Monday 10th July.

The event will be held in London at the Greenwich Peninsula on Wednesday 2nd August from 4pm and will include some inspiring guest speakers and live performances.

About the Award

There are 8 categories and YUAF is under the ‘Creating Diversity & Inclusion Award’. The winner of this award will be given the amazing opportunity to take the YUAF Media Outreach bus into a community of their choice to work with local young people for an evening session in September or October.

The bus has a tutorial room, a roof terrace for live performances and 8 work stations. The bus is also equipped with:

  • Music production keyboards and computers
  • 2 plasma viewing screens
  • DVD players
  • Amplifiers
  • DJ equipment
  • External speakers
  • Material for T-shirt workshops

Young people learn the art of song making using Logic 10. By the end of their session, they leave with a track to share with friends and family and a certificate of achievement.

About Positive for Youth

The Positive for Youth Awards is an initiative delivered by RoundTable to recognise and reward outstanding youth contribution. The awards ceremony is in it’s fifth year and is set to reward young people who have made an inspirational mark in local communities. This event will also be taking place in Los Angeles in October 2017.
