Young people taking part in sessions with the Trust at the YMCA in Woolwich Dockyard, were recently treated to a tour of The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic Football Club.
The Trust took 24 young people for a tour around the stadium and although Woolwich Dockyard is situated close to Charlton, many of the young people that attended had never been to the stadium before.
The young people were treated to the full Valley experience, as they were allowed access into the dressing rooms, boardroom and other exclusive areas of the ground.
This trip was arranged as a reward for good behaviour and progress shown by the attendees within the session at the YMCA.
Trust coach, Dino Lyamani, said, “It was nice to see the children very happy and excited to look around the stadium, they all really appreciated the tour. It was a pleasure to take the group as they would never of had this opportunity to go. The young people were all chosen for their excellent behaviour during the sessions at the Youth Hub.”
Grant Biddiss, aged 15, took part in the tour, “I am a massive Charlton fan, and this was a big day from me to see behind the scenes of my team’s home ground. I get to go to a lot of Charlton games but never get to go into the dressing rooms or anything like that. Standing in the home dressing room I felt like a real professional. I enjoyed every minute of it.”
