20 young people who attend Hawksmoor Youth Hub in Thamesmead took an unforgettable trip to Jump Giants trampoline park last Saturday, 12th November.
They all travelled by public transport for over an hour and a half by bus, Docklands Light Railway and overground train in order to reach the complex in Thurrock, Essex.
Once they arrived, they got to enjoy over 118,000 square feet of jumping surfaces, including Foam Pits with launch pads, extreme Dodgeball Courts, Slam Dunk Basketball, Junior Jump Zones, Ninja Courts, Battle Beams, Wipe Out and more.
After jumping for an hour and having some takeaway pizza, the young people enjoyed a fireworks display put on by nearby Lakeside shopping centre.
The trip was funded by a Jack Petchey Achievement Awards win. Annie Hallinan-Martin from Abbey Wood was nominated for the award for her enterprise skills, which raised money for the youth club.
She and her friend Bella both celebrated their 11th birthdays on the day too.
Claire Hallinan, Unit Manager of Hawksmoor Youth Hub said: “Everyone had an amazing day at Jump Giants- it was so fun.
I am especially pleased that everybody managed the long trip on public transport so well. Lots of the young people were taking a trip like this for the first time.
I hope their confidence has been improved and their horizons broadened.”
