Young people from across Royal Greenwich descended upon Valley Central Youth Hub last Monday, 31st October to receive their prizes for this summer’s Greenwich Invitational 6 a-side football tournament.
Each member from the winning team, Prize Hunters, each took home £250 worth of Bluewater vouchers .
Two participants also walked away with a Playstation4 each after their names were randomly drawn from everyone who attended every session over the tournament.
The Greenwich Invitational was held over 4 weeks in two different venues, culminating in the final on Friday 2nd September.
This was the 9th year the tournament has been held, with over 400 young people taking part over August.
The event was funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and sponsored by the Canary Wharf Contractor’s Fund.
Ashley Handley-Collins from Canary Wharf Contractors attended the presentation evening, commenting:
“We are delighted to see the great work of the Greenwich Invitational this year. We believe passionately in enabling young people to get involved in sport so this is a fantastic programme for us to be part of and contribute where we can”.
