Sign up for an Adventure of a lifetime on a magnificent Tall Ship

Wednesday 21st September 2016

The Tall Ships festival may have finished last weekend, but Royal Greenwich are offering a one-in-a-lifetime-chance for residents to train and take a trip on a tall ship.

Royal Greenwich residents who are 16-18 year olds, unemployed or who work in the voluntary/charitable sector can register with the Sail Trainee Scheme to boost their skills and take a trip on a tall ship to Portugal.

Sail Trainees will partake in a specifically designed training programme to gain valuable skills for future employment.

Applicants that successfully complete the STEP programme will be able to participate in the 2017 Tall Ships race spending 15 nights on board a Tall Ship from Greenwich in the UK to Sines in Portugal from 15th to 30th April 2017.

The STEP programme is free but applicants MUST meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants MUST reside within the Royal Borough of Greenwich

?                     Be currently Unemployed

Or

?                     Working in the voluntary or charitable sector within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

            Or

?                     Be attending a post 16 educational institution (but not a university) within the Royal Borough of Greenwich (Under 18’s will need parental permission)

Only applicants that successfully complete the STEP programme will be in a position to apply for a funded place with the Sail Trainee Scheme.
