Young people from Woolwich Common and Avery Hill Youth Hubs walked 9 miles to raise funds for the Charlton Athletic Upbeats.
They joined over 200 walkers and 4 Charlton Athletic legends on Saturday April 16th to raise 2016 for the much-loved Upbeats.
With a mostly scenic, but sometimes challenging trek across Greenwich, the Charlton community came together to walk from Sparrows Lane to the Valley, helping raise funds for the Down's Syndrome project run by Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT), the same organisation which runs Young Greenwich.
Led by Charlton Athletic legends Paul Mortimer, Carl Leaburn, Simon Webster and Bob Bolder, the event exceeded expectations to raise £25,000. This was much more than the target of £20,000 and last year's total of £15,000.
