Harley elected for the Greenwich Young People’s Council

Wednesday 9th December 2015

A newly elected Greenwich Young People’s Council (GYPC) has been announced and it includes Young Greenwich participant Harley Bagnall-Taylor who is a regular at the Hawksmoor Youth Hub.

58 candidates put their name forward for the positions with the results announced at Woolwich Public Hall on November 28th.  With just under 6000 votes registered, it shows the prestige of the role Harley will be taking.

The GYPC will serve for two years with an aim to influence the council’s decision-making to the advantage of the borough’s younger people. With this in mind, Harley already has his objectives clear.

“I want to get more youth clubs running and better access to them, as well as more sport facilities for people that are not able to travel”, he said.

We wish Harley all the best and will follow his position closely along with the positive impact the GYPC will have on young people.
