Young people in Royal Greenwich found their Olympic spirit recently with the opportunity to meet American Basketball star, Chris Paul, for a master class.
The class, held at Thomas Tallis School in Kidbrooke, involved Chris giving both motivational and practical advice to the young people in attendance. Chris Paul, who plays for the Los Angeles Clippers, took time out of his busy Olympic schedule to take the class.
The double Olympic gold medallist spoke about the dedication needed to become a top sportsman, highlighting the importance of practice, ‘Practice does not make perfect, but perfect practice makes perfect’, he said.
The Trust took advantage of the unique opportunity and took 15 young people chosen from Greenwich Youth Service sessions.
Trust coach Matt Horne explained, ‘This was a special event. To hear a top world sportsman talk really made the young people sit up and listen’.
