After the success of last year’s competition, Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) & Young Greenwich launched its Christmas card design competition for young people across the Royal Borough of Greenwich, which Young Greenwich is delivered on behalf of.
This year, the competition was opened to members of Young Greenwich’s main youth hubs and its partners, extending the fantastic opportunities to young people in Royal Greenwich.
Over 50 designs were submitted this year, capturing various different types of artistic styles for the festive season. Providing a spectacular Christmas touch, there were two winners this year: Leah-May from Hawksmoor Youth Hub in Thamesmead and Daniella from Young Greenwich partnerMottingham Girl Guides. The design on the left side of the card represented the community with young people on top of a Christmas pudding adding to the Christmas feel. Whilst the design on the right gives a very creative touch to Christmas, both designs combined give a special touch to the card and represented CACT as a whole.
Delighted about the calibre of entries, Jason Morgan, CACT’s Chief Executive, said:
“Pleased to continue having young people design our Christmas cards as per last year and causing us with judging headaches due to the high standard of the designs. Excellent work!”
Both winners were given fantastic prizes; a framed photo of their design and a £20 New Look gift voucher. Young Greenwich would like to thank all the young people who got involved and created their own Christmas card for CACT.
