Venue: National Maritime Museum, Romney Road, Greenwich, London, SE10 9NF
31st Jul 2017 10:30 to 11th Aug 2017 16:30

Join a team of young volunteers to explore Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site this summer. You will be challenged to design an alternative trail of the World Heritage Site encouraging museum visitors to explore Maritime Greenwich, and you will present your trail on camera. Your 2-week project will culminate in a public event to share what you have created.

What will you gain from volunteering?

You will….

  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Visit local places and experience new things
  • Learn new skills including event planning, communication and presentation
  • Gain valuable work experience for your CV and future progression
  • Achieve an ASDAN Award
  • Have a fun and enjoyable experience

To become a volunteer you must:

  • Be open to try new things! You don’t need to have an interest in heritage.
  • Be aged 15-18
  • Live or study in the Royal Borough of Greenwich
  • Be available to volunteer for all 10 days of the project from Monday 31 July to Friday 11 August from 10:30-4:30 (excluding Saturday 5 & Sunday 5 August)

Where will the project take place?

The project will mostly take place at the National Maritime Museum, Romney Road, Greenwich, SE10 9NF.

There will be some travel to nearby locations. Any travel to locations further afield will be organised and paid for by the museum. A full timetable will be issued to volunteers in advance of the project.

How much will this project cost?

This is a free project, but unfortunately we cannot cover travel costs. The costs of all activities will be covered and lunch will be provided each day consisting of a sandwich, a packet of crisps, a biscuit and juice.
